Get Rid of Hyperpigmentation

Do you have dark spots on your face? Searching for skin care products that get rid of hyperpigmentation can be a daunting task. Hyperpigmentation is the collection of melanin, which is what gives your skin it's color. Hyperpigmentation is a discolored patch on your skin that is a result of the accumulation of melanin.  You may have large or small patches of discolored skin on your face, much like freckles, liver spots or melasma, which is basically another name for hyperpigmentation.

What  Causes Hyperpigmentation?

Your blemishes, freckles, or discolored skin patches can be caused by a variety of things, ranging from your genes, age, diet, hormones and your overall environment and sun exposure.  These factors can cause the formation of your spots or blemishes, which can become darker from added sun exposure.  Taking hormones or birth control pills can also cause hyperpigmentation.  Certain medications have also been known to cause hyperpigmentation so be sure to read the side effects for any medications you may be taking.  If you have freckles these can appear anywhere and are caused by heredity. You can thank your parents for those!

In a perfect world, our skin would be even toned and free of hyperpigmentation. Luckily, new advances in cosmeceutical skin care products have developed products to help reduce the look of dark patches and help get rid of hyperpigmentation.  Also, advances in sun care protection products has also made it easier to provide your skin with ample protection from the sun, which can help prevent hyperpigmentation.  View sun care protection skin care from Skin Deep Cosmeceuticals.

Getting Rid of Hyperpigmentation

If you have ever been to a dermatologist you may have found that there is no easy answer for hyperpigmentation and that it is very hard to get rid of.  Do not expect immediate results and there are different treatments for different types of hyperpigmentation.  If you have dark patches of skin on your underarms, neck, face, or thigh these can be caused by your hormones, and may be more difficult to treat and prevent.  This type of hyperpigmentation is called melasma and looks identical to age spots but is larger.  These usually disappear after child birth or stopping birth control pills.

Microdermabrasion is the best treatment to get rid of hyperpigmentation.  It is less evasive than laser treatments from a dermatologist and, if used correctly, will reveal the more even toned areas of your skin that are hiding underneath your top layer of skin. Microdermabrasion will remove the unevenly pigmented skin cells that are on the top layer of your skin and reveal your evenly pigmented skin below.  This is a very effective treatment for most types of hyperpigmentation, however deeper cells that are embedded in the skin are unable to be removed through microdermabrasion and can be made less noticeable but may never truly fade away.  Darker age spots (also known as liver spots) can be reduced in their dark color but may never be removed completely.

Skin Deep Cosmeceuticals offers different types of products to help fade liver spots and melasma or prevent spots from becoming darker. The Anti-Aging Sunblock offers 35 SPF and is for all skin types. This unique formula contains Emblica Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to reduce the appearance of sun induced premature aging. Using sunblock will help prevent hyperpigmentation and keep dark spots from getting darker.

The Glycolic Night Resurfacing Cream and the
Glycolic Exfoliating Cleanser should be used together to help get rid of hyperpigmentation. The exfoliating cleanser has 3% glycolic acid and is paraben free. This formula was designed to provide a gentle exfoliation on your face that will reveal your younger looking skin beneath.

Glycolic acid is used for its skin renewing properties. It is one of the safest forms of skin renewal. If using a glycolic acid skin care product with the right concentration of glycolic and the right acidity (pH level), the result can be a turnover in skin cells that enhances the rebuilding of collagen elastin.  Long term use will reduce freckling, blotchy pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, mild acne scars, and more.

Another great way to get rid of hyperpigmentation is the
Skin Pigment Brightener treatment. This has 8% emblica skin lightener that is enriched with Ellagic Acid. This is non-carcinogenic and is a safe alternative to Hydroquinone. The Skin Pigment Brightener reduces pigmentation from Melasma, UV damage and acne scarring.  This is a paraben free skin care product that should be used before applying the Glycolic Acid Resurfacing Night Cream. Be sure to use the Anti Aging Sunblock in the morning to reduce your skin's exposure to the sun.  Apply the skin Pigment Brightener 2 to 3 times a week to help get rid of hyperpigmentation.
